A little more about LEED...
LEED’s green building rating system is a voluntary, consensus-based national rating system for developing high-performance, sustainable buildings. LEED addresses all building types and emphasizes state-of-the-art strategies in five areas: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials and resources selection, and indoor environmental quality. We care about the welfare of our earth as well...

We are currently working towards getting our Silver certification with LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design). This is done by meeting various requirements that leave a smaller carbon footprint. There are three BIG reasons why our kennels will be LEED certified…

  1. Our energy will be harnessed from the sun’s powerful UV rays by our hi-tech solar panels.
  2. In order to heat our massive building, we will use a very new and exciting technology called GeoThemal Heat Exchange. GeoThermal Heat Exchange uses the constant temperature of the earth to both heat and cool our building. The temperature of the earth (if deep enough) is always 47 degrees farenheit. With use of a piping system and a simple fan, we can pump this 47 degree air into our building. Depending on the season, this temperature will help aid in warming or cooling the building. This means we won’t skimp on the AC in the summer and the heat in the winter!
  3. The last reason our kennel will be LEED certified is because of our segemented building design. There’s no need to heat and cool parts of the building that aren’t being used…

With all this great technology we can not only provide better comfort for your animal, but we can also prevent those two horrible words that everyone hates to hear…Global Warming
